Eko-Okna and Our Children Foundation participate in the campaign Palpating=Winning

Conscious and strong women who love themselves care for their health by examining their breasts regularly. This is the guiding idea of the Palpating=Winning (Dotykasz=Wygrywsz) campaign, raising awareness of breast cancer prevention.

Together, we can change the statistics! This is what the Support at the Start Foundation and the Panache brand are calling for. What is this action all about?

Out of concern for women's health, Eko-Okna, together with the Our Children Foundation, has joined in the collection of ill-fitting, uncomfortable or disliked bras. ”Each of us has one in our closet. Women working at Eko-Okna can bring them to our EKO-MED clinic until the end of October. For one donated bra, she will receive a discount coupon worth 20 PLN for the purchase of a new one at the Justyna Professional Brafitting store in Kietrz,” says Małgorzata Siwochowicz, Representative of the Director for Health Care at Eko-Okna.

The collected bras will be donated to the campaign partner, Wtórpol. The funds obtained from the introduction of underwear into the second circulation will support the charitable activities of the Support at the Start Foundation and the Polish Amazon Social Movement Association.

Why is it worth having a breast self-exam regularly?

In Poland, we are more likely to diagnose breast cancer at later stages than in other countries. Only 41% of patients receive a diagnosis in an early stage, while the average in the European Union is 51%. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women, after lung cancer. Among women between the ages of 20 and 44, it ranks first in both incidence and mortality. In the group of women over 50, it accounts for as much as 80% of cases. In recent years, there has been an increasing trend in breast cancer mortality. ”It is worth getting tested because early detected cancer is curable,” concludes Małgorzata Siwochowicz.
