We stopped the production and recorded a podcast with "Branżowisko"

INITIATIVES

"Eko-Okna is the leader in PVC joinery production, but this may soon change, and it will become the leader in the sale of wooden windows and doors, too.” With these words, the 183rd episode of the podcast began. It was recorded in our scantling warehouse at Plant No.5.

The creators of the well-known Branżowisko podcast visited our wood production department. Michał Maciejewski, Managing Director of the Sales and Purchasing Department, and Dominik Czerwinski, Wood Product Director, talked about the advantages of the new products and the challenges our company faced in introducing them to the market.

A breath of modernity

Eko-Okna is the leader in PVC joinery, but they are also striving to become the leader in wood joinery. "Behind the wall, these windows are being made, so don't be surprised if you can hear the noise. Orders are flowing, lead times are short. We stopped production at Eko-Okna for a while! Who can do it?” With these words began the podcast recorded at our factory. The conversation took place in the scantling storage warehouse. ”Next to us, there is a continuous production of wooden windows and doors,” explained Michał Maciejewski.

At the Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, we presented a premiere product, the Esperia Life wooden window. "Many times, exhibiting at various fairs and exhibitions in Poland and abroad, we looked into what customers need. We did market research and found no equivalent of the product we offered. Hence, in Nuremberg, we presented Esperia Life wooden windows, an innovative product with a hidden sash. We breathed the spirit of modernity into the joinery industry,” said Mr Maciejewski.

Is wood in fashion?

The podcast creators asked the bold question of whether Eko-Okna was afraid to launch wooden products to the market in an era of wooden joinery being out of fashion. What was their response? "I think it is quite the opposite. In my opinion, wood is experiencing a renaissance; individual and institutional clients are looking more and more in this direction. I think this is a great time for us,” said Dominik Czerwiński. In turn, Michał Maciejewski explained that in terms of export, the wood is still in fashion. We just need to take advantage of this trend and satisfy the customer's needs, but also show something completely new. Then wooden windows will be eagerly purchased. "Research shows that as much as 15% of the segment is wooden joinery,” added Michał Maciejewski.

What makes our wooden windows stand out from other manufacturers? Mr Maciejewski pointed to the incredible aesthetics of workmanship. ”Our wooden windows are made entirely different from those of our competitors. We put a lot of emphasis on aesthetics, and we have invested a lot of money in production machinery, thanks to which we obtain a final product unrivalled in this part of Europe,” Mr Maciejewski explained. He added that by producing in such a modern plant as ours in Kornice and on equipment of such high quality, the final product is refined, aesthetic, and functional, ahead of the competition, ensuring a good customer rating as our wooden joinery enjoys.

We focus on development

Currently, wood production is carried out in the hall at plant no.5, but there is certainly not enough space. "A neighbouring hall is being built, which will be used mainly for wooden windows production. We have about 3,5 hectares of roofed space. We have ordered machinery, and we’re starting production in this hall next year,” said Mr Czerwieński. He added that our production capacity will significantly increase, even though we can already produce 750 wooden windows daily.

Another location where wooden joinery will be produced is Wodzisław Śląski. "We see an upward trend, and to meet this and customer expectations, as well as maintain fast lead times, we have full production occupancy,”  Dominik Czerwiński explained in the podcast. Michał Maciejewski, in turn, explained that customers are constantly testing us. "When they place their first order, customers test us. They test how it is with the quality and delivery time, and then, if we meet their expectations, they order more products. We believe that customers will be satisfied with these first orders and will stay with us longer,” he explained.

We are changing the perception of wooden joinery.

Customers are used to waiting a long time for wooden windows and doors. "With us, it’s the opposite. We can produce wooden windows in two weeks,” assured Dominik Czerwiński. It applies to standard products. For the atypical ones, one has to wait a little longer. Is wood unforgiving of mistakes and a challenge to work with? Dominik Czerwiński assures that he is constantly fighting against the image of wooden windows and doors as being handmade. "We imagine a carpenter with a pencil behind his ear, working in a workshop, while Eko-Okna stands for a continuous production that is not as dependent on people and their skills as in small workshops. We have a strong machine park, the most modern paint shop on the market, and we are proud of it,” he said.

The end of the year holds a promise. "We are on an upward trend. We are approaching the goal we set for this year, that is, by the end of this quarter, we are confident about sales results. We will achieve our goal," concluded Mr Maciejewski

"Eko-Okna is abuzz" are the words with which the hosts of Branżowisko ended the conversation with Michał Maciejewski and Dominik Czerwiński. We invite you to listen to the podcast!
